One year ago this week I wrote my first posts for the blog. They were mini-little posts, and Nolan was still a mini-little baby.
A big THANK YOU to everyone who has supported the blog this year – the comments, the shares, and general good will that has come with this little corner of the internet has been amazing. Sincerely, thanks.
A look back at the first 3 posts on A Mothership Down…
Incriminating Evidence
Scandal alert! Just found one stray little girl sock mixed in with Nolan’s laundry. What baby girls are sneaking into his nursery at night?! And why are they not showing up on my monitor? More importantly, why are they unfazed by his inability to control his bowels? Come on, girls.

Busted
I think we have our explanation for the rogue lady-baby sock, folks. Just found this selfie that Nolan posted on Match.com.

Internet Safety
We just had a long talk about the dangers of the internet. Turns out Nolan is also on J-Date (he claims he thought the “J” was for Junior), and his photos there really make me wonder about his judgement. I get that he wants to highlight his thighs (who wouldn’t!) and back hair (“I resemble a baby wolverine”). I just want him to work on his personality first. Parenting is hard.
Here’s to another good year!
Your blog is so awesome Liz! While I dont know you in real life, I feel like I do. As a new Mom myself, I relate so much, and to have a place to come and laugh after a rough day of work and Mommying is awesome. Congrats on your first year, and keep the funny coming!
That’s so nice Kerry, thanks for leaving a comment! Comments like these make me so happy – I love it when someone feels like they know me from the blog. That’s the goal! That and to become extremely wealthy and famous. But mostly, the connection thing.
For real, thank you.
Congratulations lovely lady!
Thanks Krissy! And thanks for recognizing my loveliness. It so often goes unspoken that I am indeed very lovely… 🙂
Thanks for a year of fantastic writing! I can’t say this about many blogs, but I read all of your posts. I’m never disappointed. So no pressure, but don’t screw up now.
That is my mantra each night before bed: DO NOT SCREW UP NOW. It’s also the first thing I say to myself in the morning when I look in the mirror. I like to keep it light and motivational when I coach myself.
p.s. It makes me really happy that you are a fan of the blog, since you are one of my all-time favorite writers! (anyone reading this comment – check out Welcome to the Bundle). Jessica is the bomb.
When people say “I laughed…I cried! ” its usually just an expression but with the blog I actually did both, often (much more laughing than crying though! ) Thanks for a great year. I’m always excited each time there’s a new post iny inbox!
Aw, thanks Chrissie! Although I’m not sure what made you laugh – this is a hard hitting journalism blog. You might want to re-read a few posts 🙂
A year!? Wow! So proud of you, Liz!
Thanks Toni! I think I’ll go celebrate with some 2 Buck Chuck 🙂
It’s so weird to see Nolan looking so young! I started reading your blog pretty early on – I think you only had a couple entries – but I don’t remember him ever seeming so little. It’s crazy how much changes in a year! Cognratulations!!
I know, it really is weird! Erin thanks for sticking with the blog all year, you’re one of my favorite commenters!!
Happy blogiversary!
