A Short and Reasonable Mother’s Day Wish List

Published May 10, 2015. Last updated November 16, 2019 by Liz. This post may contain affiliate links.

The other day on Facebook I said that all I wanted for Mother’s Day was a stronger latch on the bathroom door.  I woke up this morning and realized that while that would still be a dream come true, I really need a few other items to round-out the day.

Mother's Day

Note to moms: We should probably start our own registries for Mother’s Day. Nobody would take issue with that because everybody likes demands.

In no particular order:

  1. Coffee
  2. Coffee
  3. Coffee
  4. All the coffee.
  5. Stronger latch on the bathroom door
  6. Any latch on the bathroom door, or even just a pile of towels thrown in front of the door to serve as a roadblock
  7. Noise canceling earphones
  8. To live in a coffee shop
  9. For Target to sell cocktails
  10. Ibuprofen in bulk
  11. A self-cleaning child
  12. Tubs that don’t get dirty no matter how much you use them
  13. Ditto for sheets
  14. Ditto for floors
  15. My abs back
  16. My boobs back
  17. The return of control over my bladder
  18. Coffee
  19. Coffee
  20. All the coffee.

Happy Mother’s Day!

Awesome! I didn’t think Target could get any better once Starbucks was part of it… but you have just shattered that with the idea of cocktails! I seriously view Target as therapeutic (well.. when I’m there without a shrieking child, that is) and what’s therapy without a bit of booze!? A girl can dream, right? Happy Mother’s Day and thanks for always making me laugh!

We need to make #9 happen… Liz, you are brilliant! Happy belated Mother’s Day and let me know if you need help with your “put a bar inside Target” business plan.

I so miss my coffee! Love how prominent it is on your list.
I think I need to resubscribe to your blog. For some reason I have not been receiving your posts lately. I miss the laughs!

Hey! Hmmm, I wonder if the problem is that now that I use Mailchimp (a new email service for subscribers) posts are going to your “promotions” folder on gmail. My guess is that’s where the posts are going!

[…] Personally, I love peeing while two babies hang on my knees/try to see into the toilet/nurse.    Still, I understand where she’s coming from.  […]
