Yes, it’s Election Day, both at the polls and here at A Mothership Down. We’re political that way. I’m very pleased to announce the winner of the 1st Annual Halloween Costume Contest! It was a tight race, but in the end one man swam ahead….
Graham the Scuba Man!!
*YOU CAN SEE ALL OF THE CONTENDERS HERE!
You may recognize Graham as Grumpy Cat from his entry in the Looky-Likey Competition. This kid’s clearly a competitor.
In second place we had the adorable Ewok Marcus. I mean come on, can this kid work an angle or what??
And in 3rd place we had the come from behind “duo from the diner,” Colton and Charlie as Bacon and Eggs!
Other contenders of note included Sadie & Dalton as Batgirl and Robin, Wyatt as Jax Teller, and Max & Leo as sharks. Great work everyone!
Next year I’ll try to make up some actual criteria for this contest (Are we going for cute kids? Homemade costumes? A clever idea?) Who the hell knows!
As our first ever costume contest winner, Scuba Graham will be receiving a $65 credit to Swell Forever for a gift of his choice. Ok probably of his mom’s choice. I mean sure the kid may be able to scuba dive, but he doesn’t really know how to shop online. Guys, he’s a baby.
Swell Forever specializes in American made heirloom gifts with a personalized twist.
Everything purchased through Swell Forever helps contribute to the Swell Forever Adoption Fund and is immediately donated at the end of the month to a family in need of financial assistance with an adoption or care of an adopted child.
Special thanks to Brooke Henze, founder of Swell Forever, for this donated prize! And thanks to our voters and contestants. Sure most of our competitors didn’t know they were competing, but let’s not split hairs.
Yayyyy! That’s my little guy! What a fun competition with so many awesome costumes! It was a tight race the whole time. Everyone looked so great! Thank you to all who voted for Graham. And thank you to Swell Forever for their generous prize and their work in supporting adoptive families. And thank you to Liz for hosting such a great competition. Looking forward to next Halloween already! 🙂
I love blog acceptance speeches! This is great! And Graham has now proven that he is one to be reckoned with twice. I’m expecting big things from this kid in the future.
Hello Alyssa,
I’m not sure you’ll even ever see this, but I’m wondering if you could give me some pointers on how you made you such an adorable costume? I’m particularly interested in how you made the tank and regulator look so nice.
Please respond if you ever see this post-this Halloween will be my sweet boy Ben’s first and I want to make it amazing.
Sincerely,
Jenna
